About William

William is Melissa's older brother who works as a concession standee and a part-time worker at his father's business. He is a charismatic guy, who is naturally charming, mischievous, and low-key around the people he is comfortable with. He is typically a responsible person at work, intuitive when it comes to social activities, and often likes hanging out with his friends in his free time. He also enjoys pursuing the next fashion crazes and crying while watching musicals. (Don’t tell anyone we told you this!)

The focus of his backstory is his journey towards self-discovery. Initially, he was perceived as a "perfect young man" due to his academic excellence, athletic abilities (particularly in soccer), and social skills that earned him a vast circle of friends who helped him discover his passion for his interests. He often felt stifled by the expectations of his parents, who exerted unintentional but excessive control over his life choices. This caused him to harbor a deep resentment towards them for not allowing him to pursue his interests. Later on, he struggled with being in the closet and feeling like the only member of his family who was hiding this part of himself. This made it difficult for him to explain his situation to his parents, particularly his father.

As he grew up, he began to develop his interests outside of his father's business. At first, his father disapproved, but after they talked it over, he came to understand and support his son's decisions. This newfound confidence led him to confide in his mother and eventually younger sister Melissa, about his long-suppressed feelings of being in the LGBTQ+ community. Though shocked at first, they accepted him and promised to treasure his feelings until he was ready to share them with his father. Since then, they have tried to see him in a new light, hoping he will stay true to himself and find the courage to express his secret to their father without fear of harsh judgment.
